G’day Canucks and Aussies,
I’ve set up this blog to give you a peek into some of the wonderful things I’ve observed, laughed at or considered pretty damn peculiar, in the land of maple syrup, beavers and hockey.
I’ll also throw in a bucketful of Australiana at no extra charge!
I’m 16089km from home, living in Ottawa, Canada. It’s a long way from kangaroos, stunning beaches and 22 million people who strangely enough have an Australian accent. To put it into perspective, it took me 31 hours to get from Canberra to Ottawa. It makes me jetlagged just thinking about it!
Enjoy and feel free to comment and ask questions!

Hi Nicole and happy belated Anzac Day. Last year I posted a recipe for Anzac biscuits that I was given by another Aussie-Canadian who used to live in the neighbourhood. I’d be curious to hear if you have any great variations on it! I reposted the recipe today at http://www.kitchissippikids.blogspot.com.
The other recipe I’d love to have is for Pavlova which yet another Aussie-Canadian friend had made for us one year. Let me know if you have any suggestions.
Happy blogging!
Hey Erica, I use a little less coconut and a little more golden syrup (they’re crunchier if you use more). I’ll chase up a tried and tested pavlova recipe.
Thanks for commenting.
